Auction Information

     There are two auction options for the 4-Hers this year, trying to accommodate our buyers and 4-H families, but the 4-H member could only sign-up for one auction.   

B  Bidmetzger.com will be the auction platform, which is the same as last year, so a buyer may already have an account. Buyer will need to enter the auction they wish to participate. There is an option to reset the login and password if needed on the website. 

    Buyers will have to Use the search bar in each auction to find the 4-Her you would like to support this year if participating On-Line.

o   Search by 4-Her’s name, Parents Name, Projects Taken

       o   If utilizing the On-Line Option, buyers will need to register at bidmetzger.com. 

          First Auction Option:

o   A Completely On-Line Only Auction:

§  For Non-Livestock Members or 4-Hers who chose not to participate in the live auction.

§  Will be available at bidmetzger.com starting at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023.

§  The highest bidder will support the 4-Her this year, however the “Add-On” option is available to give a set dollar amount to the 4-Her of the buyers choice, as in previous years. A buyer will need to select "View Lot Details" of the 4-Her they would like to support for the "Add-On" feature.

§  A Credit Card (with a 4% convenience fee) may be used on-line or we can invoice you for a cash or check payment option.

§  Checks will be paid to Wabash County 4-H Council

                     Second Auction Option:

o   A Combination, Traditional Live Auction with On-Line Bidding Available.

§  Only kids with Livestock Projects can participate in this Auction, and with only one species being auctioned off.

§  The Live Auction will start at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023 at the Wabash County Fair Grounds Show Arena.

§  Buyers need to visit the Metzger Auction Trailer located on the east end of the show arena to register for the live auction. The trailer will open at 10:00 a.m. that morning.

§  During the Live Auction, buyers can also participate with On-Line Bidding if they cannot attend in person and will need to register at bidmetzger.com to do so.

§  This auction will open on the bidmetzger.com website at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023 for buyers to view the 4-Hers participating, with the live-simulcast auction starting at 1 PM. If you are bidding online, please be aware, at 1 PM you will want to click the "Enter Auction" button online to see real time information.

• • • If you have participated before and your email is on file, all buyers will be emailed a showbill as well.

§  The “Add-On” option is available to support 4-Hers through this auction also and will only be available until the end of the live auction.

§  Only the Winning Bidder, whether that be from the Live Crowd or an On-Line Bidder will be announced during the live auction, no “Add-Ons” will be read aloud.

§  If a buyer would like to participate in this auction utilizing a combination of Live Auction Bidding and “Add-Ons”, they will need to register on-line and then use that same bidder number during the live auction.

§  Cash, Check or Credit Card (with a 4% convenience fee) will be accepted.

§  Buyers at the Live Auction can settle their accounts that night in person. 

§  As in year’s past, buyers can combine their bids for a single 4-Her and participate in a Group Buy, however, buyers should inform the auction committee of this when registering for a live bidder number at the auction trailer, prior to the live auction.

• • • This is a Premium Auction. As the buyer, you pay the exact dollar amount you bid, the market will not be subtracted from your bid.

• • • If you hold an animal, you are responsible for the bid price PLUS the Market Price.

• • • Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry: You may donate the calf, pig, sheep or goat you purchase to Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry to support local food pantries and some community schools. You will owe the bid price PLUS the market price.

TERMS: All invoices need to be paid within 10 days following the completion of the auction. Valid Credit Card required for online bidding approval. All bidding is in US Dollars (USD). Cash, Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express. Checks are to be made payable to Wabash County 4H Council. They should be mailed to: Marissa Huston 4257 E. Old 24, Lagro, IN 46941. Your credit card on file will not automatically be charged following the auction. You may pay with cash, check or card; all card transactions will have a 4% convenience fee for any type of card.
